Ever since I moved back to good, cold Germany, there’s one thought that doesn’t leave my mind: How much I miss riding my bike in Los Angeles. There are some very specific spots and activities that let my heart beat faster whenever I daydream about California. Here’s a list of 7 of those things.
I’m sure we all know the struggle: It’s been raining for days. You come home from work tired and stressed out. Your apartment is a mess and needs urgent cleaning. Plus, you want to spend time with your partner or your family. And the bike? It’s just standing there, staring at you.
I used to live in Berlin for eight years, and honestly, I never bothered getting a bike. Public transportation brings you to almost any spot in the city without having to walk more than ten minutes, and just thinking about having to navigate the crowded streets on a bike gave me severe anxiety bursts.
